Pre-WOF checklist
Before bringing your vehicle in for a WOF please consider the following
- Car boot Make sure your car boot is empty. This enables us to easily check the spare wheel.
- Cleanliness Please ensure your vehicle is presented in a clean and hygienic state for our inspectors, we are not able to carry out an inspection on a vehicle with an unhygienic interior.
- Fuel Please ensure your vehicle has enough fuel in it for us to carry out the inspection.
- Headrests If any headrests have been removed, please refit them as they required.
- Seats & seatbelts Before you arrive, check all the seatbelts are accessible and have no tears or rips. Remove child safety seats and make sure any back seats are up.
What happens if my vehicle fails?
- We can replace the simple stuff If it’s something small we can usually fix it on the spot. After a member of our service team checks if its ok with you to do so, our Automotive Technicians can usually replace most types of wipers and bulbs with items we keep in stock. They can also adjust your headlights and top up the water, oil, and clutch and brake fluid if required.
- Major repair work If something larger needs fixing, our Automotive Technicians will explain exactly what needs to be repaired and write clear notes on the WOF check sheet, our service team will then contact you and provide you with the correct advice to rectify any issues as well as provide a quotation or estimate of costings for the repair if required.
How often do I need a WOF?
The frequency of WOF inspections is based on the age of your vehicle. Check below to see how often your vehicle needs to be checked.
- Vehicles first registered 1999 or earlier require a WOF assessment every 6 months
- Vehicles registered 2000 or later require a WOF assessment annually
- Vehicles less than 3 years old don’t require another WOF until the third anniversary of registration or 12 months after their current WoF expiry date – whichever is longest
